The instrument

The last tone-wheel organ was the T-500-series. It is almost identical to the T-100 - T-400 organs, but as with any revision of the circuitry. The chorus/vibrato was now individually selectable for upper and lower manual. Hammond also integrated the Rythm III unit and added an internal Leslie and Leslie 700-series socket. Electrical impulses of various frequencies are produced within a tone generator, containing a number of tone wheels driven at predetermined speeds by a synchronous motor and gear arrangement. The amplifier is operated with transistors.

Details

The T-562 has two manuals with 44 keys, harmonic drawbars, register rockers Ensemble 8' on the lower manual and String 8', Full Tibias 16' and Theater Brass 16' on the upper manual as well as mixable percussion rockers for Chimes, Celeste, Guitar, Marimba, Xylophone and Banjo with Repeat. It also has separate vibrato celeste, small and chorus for the two manuals, reverberation in three levels and volume soft and brilliance. The pedal rockers control the 13-note pedal 16' and 8', mute and sustain.
