Created in Russia between 1919 and 1920, the Theremin is one of the oldest electronic instruments in history. It marked the beginnings of the electronic music era. Its peculiarity: it is played without any physical contact at all! The sound of the Theremin is now used in cinema, experimental and pop music. Learning it is easy, but mastering it is a real challenge!
The smem invites anyone interesting in playing this fascinating instrument to join the workshop. This initiation is provided by Charles Hobbs, who is both a Theremin builder and player. It's up to you to get this intrument playing all sorts of sounds! Each participant will be provided with their own Theremin for the duration of the course.
