The digital Siel MPD 40 Midi Percussion was launched in 1986 as the brand's first drum machine. After Siel partially switched to Keytak after the bankruptcy, the instrument was called Keytak MDP 40. Suzuki RPM-40 is a rebrand in a new design.

The MDP 40 has 20 preset patterns in 2 versions with Clap variation. The patterns can be chained with Fill-in intro and swinged with Swing function which does not works on some patterns, the Internal clock can be set also using the Tap button. The presets are: disco, funky, rock, 8 beat, ballad, beguine, bossa, jazz, polka, tango, new wave, reggae, pop, 16 beat, slowrock, cha-cha, samba, shuffle, polka, waltz, march.
