Elka Soloist 505 Analog Monophonic Synthesizer
The instrument
The Elka Solist synthesizer is a simple analogue and monophonic device like the simultaneous Moog Satellite. A special feature is that it has the famous Moog Ladder Filter on board. The manufacturers incorporated the components before Moog Music made a patent condition for non-Moog instruments. The Soloist was also built into the X-705 and X-705 organs by Elka.
Details
The unit has 11 presets: Trombone, Trumpet, Saxophone, Clarinet, Oboe, Guitar, Hawaiian Guitar, Violin, Flute, Cosmic, Telstar. A variation mode makes the instrument more versatile by giving the user some control over slow attack, decay, WOW (bandpass plus resonance), cut-off frequency of the filter, vibrato depth (speed stored in the preset) and automatic bending at the beginning of the note from low to played pitch.
