Compared to its predecessors FR-1 and FR-2L, the Ace Ton FR-3 has changed mainly in the possibilities for varying the rhythms and in the design. He is the forerunner of the Roland TR-33 (1972) with very similar controls and analogue sounds. 

10 presets: 2 Beat, 4 Beat, Waltz, Slow Rock, Rock'n'Roll, Bossa Nova, Samba, Mambo, Rhumba, Beguine. Variations by rotary switch: Fox Trot 1 / 2, Swing 1 / 2 / 3, March, Haba-Nera, Tango. Rotary switch for volume,  balance and tempo.
