Farfisa Fast 5 C5/162 Electric Combo Organ
The instrument
Introduced at NAMM in 1968, the FAST series of organs seems to have been an attempt to upgrade the Compact line. FAST stands for "Farfisa All Silicon Transistorized". An August, 1968 price list included the entire FAST line except for the 2/C. The Fast 4 and 5 were designed for professional use. The Fast 5 corresponds to the 4 model, but has three additional "sustain" sounds that are located in the high frequency range: Celesta, Clavichord and Kinura (all 8′).
