Wurlitzer 200A Analog Electric Piano
The instrument
The 200A, the best-known Wurlitzer electric piano, was launched in 1974 as a revised version of the 1968 200 model. It is equipped with a black plastic housing, detachable legs and two integrated loudspeakers. Its keyboard has 64 keys and the controls on the silver panel are the volume control and a potentiometer for the intensity of the internal tremolo effect. The sustain pedal works with a Bowden cable.
The first Wurlitzer electric piano, the E-110, was released in 1954 and was followed by the EP-111 and EP-112 models. These models were equipped with an internal tube amplifier and a rear speaker. The first Wurlitzer piano with a transistor amplifier, the EP-140, was introduced in 1962. The cabinets of the 100 series are made of wood or fibreboard.

Details
In the Wurlitzer electric piano mechanism, which is modelled on the piano, a hammer strikes a metal reed, the vibration of which is picked up by an electrostatic pickup.
