The instrument

The Tiracon 6V synthesizer is a device with polyphonic, analog sound generation, controlled by a digital 8-bit microprocessor U880. It is 6-voice polyphonic with a keyboard of 49 keys.

Details

The Tiracon consists of 3 circuit boards: The channel circuit board (KLP) contains the tone generator (VCO), the filter (VCF) and the amplifier (VCA). The analog circuit board (ALP) contains six KLPs, a noise generator and a headphone amplifier, while the digital circuit board (DLP) contains a Z80 computer and a D/A converter. The VCO has the waveforms sawtooth 4' and square 4', 8' and 16', which can be combined. The VCF is a 24 dB low-pass filter with adjustable resonance. One LFO each is assigned to the VCO, the VCF and the pulse width. There are also 32 program memory locations and a sequencer with two tracks for 250 notes.
