The instrument

The Orchestra Ensemble String Synthesiser was launched by former Farfisa employees under the new brand Siel in 1979. It was rather simply equipped, but cheaper than corresponding products from the competition. The instrument was also sold as the ARP Quartet. This version replaced the Reed section with an Organ section.

Details

The Siel Orchestra is a preset synthesiser with 49 keys without velocity, covering 4 octaves (C-C). It is equipped with 4 sound sections with a superordinate divide-down oscillator network, which includes a filter envelope, a LFO (vibrato) and an amp envelope. Brass can be switched for trombone and trumpet, String for cello and violin, Reed for accordion and musette, Piano for honkytonk and with sustain. Vibrato, Brilliance (for the Brass), Attack and Decay can be edited. 6 sliders are used to modulate the sound sources, 12 switches for the preset sounds, which can be combined in pairs.
