The TBG/1 tape recorder was launched on the market in 1954 by Scintilla AG in Solothurn, Switzerland. It was founded in 1917 as a subsidiary of Brown, Boveri & Cie. and was transferred to Bosch in Stuttgart in 1954.
The TBG/1 has the following features: Frequency response 50 - 9000 Hz, three motors, speed 19 cm/sec, recording time 30 min. per audio track. Permanent Magnet Dynamic (PDyn) Loudspeaker (moving coil) / Ø 26 cm, 6 tubes: EF40, EF40, EBL21, EL41, EM34, AZ21. Dimensions: 475 x 350 x 290 mm. (source: Radiomuseum)
