The instrument
In contrast to the String Melody (licensed from Logan), the String Performer is a Hohner development. The keyboard offers 60 keys for polyphonic and monophonic use.
Details
In the poly section, the String Performer has a string sound that can be called up in three foot positions (cello, viola, violin), a piano sound, a harpsichord sound and a bass sound. There is a volume fader per keyboard zone and polyphonic preset. The sounds can be combined and, thanks to the frequency divider circuit, can be played polyphonically over the entire keyboard range. Only the bass preset is limited to the lower half of the keyboard. Apart from the volume, only the release of the VCA envelope can be changed for the string sounds.
The special features of the unit include the solo section with the following presets: Brass, String, Clarinet and a synth sound called Planet. All presets have a delayed vibrato and can be played simultaneously. An octave button transposes the sounds down an octave. (Source: Keyboards)
