The instrument

In the early 1960s, the first electronic accordions were developed by Farfisa, a merger of the Scandalli, Settimio Soprani and Frontalini companies. The TD/50 Transicord from 1962 was the first transistor accordion. It sounds more like a combo organ, namely the Compact series, which appeared in 1964. The Transicord was designed together with the Farfisa amplifiers and the F/AR, an external reverb, preamplifier and power supply unit. It was offered in two models, the Standard and the DeLuxe, which featured organ percussion effects.
1960-1962 Farfisa developed the first generation Cordovox vacuum tube accordion, the CG-2 and CG-3, which used tubes in a suitcase-sized tone module to generate sound.
