The instrument

The Rhapsody 490 is the counterpart to the larger Rhapsody 610. It was distributed for the international market by the German company Hohner under the name StringVox in white. The instrument was played by Tony Banks (Genesis), among others.

Details

The two built-in sounds of the Rhapsody 490 are violin/cello and strings. They have their own faders for volume. Only a sustain control is available as an effect. Alternatively, a sustain pedal can be connected. There are also four separate mute buttons for each sound. The keyboard is equipped with 49 keys without velocity. The sound is output via a mono jack.
