The instrument

The Davolisint was probably the first analog synthesizer from an Italian brand. It is monophonic, and the sound is created using an octave divide-down generator, whereby two oscillators are detuned so that the fundamental frequency is divided by two. The result is a square waveform that is one octave below the fundamental frequency of the oscillator. The keyboard can be played over two octaves.

Details

The Davolisint offers independent vibrato for each oscillator and portamento, but no filters, envelopes or oscillator synchronization. Switches controlled by the gray buttons can activate pitches from 32' to 1/2' and several foot positions simultaneously, while others can be used to switch VCO1, VCO2, Vibrato 1, Vibrato 2, and T1 and T2 with increasing portamento strength on or off and to adjust the tuning of VCO1 and VCO2 as well as the speed and depth of Vibrato 1 and Vibrato 2. The “Extend” lever raises the pitch by a whole octave.  (Source: SoundonSounc)
