The Boss Ma-5 Micro Monitor was released by Roland in 1980. It has a PA system with a mic chord and audio-dyne mic. The low cost amplifier was produced for use in small practice rooms. 

The MA-5 features a self contained 5 watt amplifier. The pre-amp stage has High and Low Gain Inputs which can accept signals from a variety of different instruments. Controls are provided for Volume and Tone. An Auxiliary Input jack allows another signal to be amplified simultaneously. A Line Out jack allows the MA-5 to be used as a pre amplifier and can send the signal to a recording or mixing console. A head- phone jack is provided for private monitoring.
