The DS-2 is basically a monosynth with an added 44-voice polyphonic strings section. He was one of the first synthesizers to use DCOs. DS stands for Digital Synthesiser. The DS2 has two analogue oscillators whose frequency is monitored by a digital control circuit.
The DS-2 has a polyphonic string section. There are two LFOs, one with S&H and staircase waveforms, for modulation of Osc 1, Osc 2, VCF and VCA. Pulse-width can be set manually or modulated by either LFO. There are two ADSRs to making bass and drum sounds with it.
