The instrument

The echo mixer with a modern design was developed by Telefunken for home studios and launched in 1961. It offered unique functions. With this device, the input signals from three sound sources - microphones, record players, tape recorders and radios - could be mixed and recorded on tape. The Hammond IV reverberation system is also built in.

Details

The Echomixer has three input amplifiers and one output amplifier. The six germanium transistors are 4 x OC603, 1 x OC604 and 1 x AC106. The AC supply is for 110V and 220V. Channel A, without reverberation, connects microphones (5 - 15 mV) or radios (25 - 80 mV), channels B and C, with reverberation and level pre-regulator, connect microphones (5 - 15 mV), radios (25 - 250 mV) or TB / TA (75 - 750 mV). The output is equipped with 150 _ 750 mV. There are sliders for the volume of all channels, the pre-level setting of channels B and C and the reverberation. (Source: Hi-Fi archive)
