Leslie 251 Organ Speaker Cabinet
The instrument
The Leslie 251 is a further development of the Model 51, but unlike the latter it is equipped with low-speed motors and a new bass speaker, but without the rotor stop option. Like the predecessor model 51, it was designed for connection to Conn organs, but can be connected to any other organ with the appropriate installation kits. In the course of its construction, the second audio channel developed more and more into a reverb channel via which the organ's reverb signal was transmitted. This is why the 251 is considered the ideal sound cabinet for the Hammond A-100 and M-100 organs, both of which have their own reverb effect. It produces an identical sound to the 122, 145 and 147 models.
