The instrument

According to the Grundig company, the TK 14 tape recorder ushered in a new generation of recording devices after the TK 5 from 1955. The innovations mainly concerned the design and a richer range of operating elements. The tapes were still two-track, the reels measured 15 cm and the tape speed was 9.5 cm/s. Recording and playback were monophonic. Recording and playback were monophonic. The GDM 311 microphone was supplied as an accessory.

Details

The frequency range of the TK 14 is 40 - 14,000 Hz at > 50 dB. The device has a power amplifier of 4 watts. 
The tubes are ECC83, ECL86, EM82, the semiconductors are E25C5 and B250C75. The built-in loudspeaker is Permanent Magnet Dynamic (PDyn).
