The instrument
The G 257 Magnetofono from Geloso was a successful model for domestic use in the 1960s, particularly in Italy. The T 28 piezo microphone was supplied as an accessory.
Details
The G 257 is a recorder with two small 8 cm diameter coils with mono tracks. The functions of the device are based on the ECC 83, EL 95 and DM 70 tubes and a B250/C75 rectifier. The running speed is 4.75 cm/s. The signal-to-noise ratio is >50 dB. A dynamic permanent magnet loudspeaker (PDyn) is built in.
