The instrument

Roland released the Boss PW-1 Rocker Wah Pedal in 1979. It features the volume control circuitry for tone, width control and three frequency settings.

Details

"This wah-wah pedal has a few new features that cannot be overlooked. The effect width of the wah-wah can be set in advance using a control, which means that the pedal travel always remains the same, only the wah-wah range changes.Switching from effect path to normal path is done with an FET switch, as known from compact effects. The operating status is indicated by an LED so that the status can be recognized even on a dark stage. This LED also serves as a battery check. Of course, the pedal also has a mains adapter connection, volume adjustment, rubber feet and a safety area for the battery." (Catalog Boss 1980)
