The Akai S2000 sampler from 1995 is 32-voice polyphony and memory expandable up to the 32MB. It was an entry-level alternative to the S3000 from 1995. It is housed in a 2 U housing, can be optionally equipped with a 16 MB ROM card, has no XLR connections, only a small LC display, but a built-in SCSI interface. Simple samples can be modified with numerous functions.
