The instrument

The Eminent I Amplifier was launched in 1966 as the successor to the Eminent EMT (1962). It was significantly redesigned both visually and technically. It has four mixable universal inputs for dynamic microphones and instruments. The inputs have separate bass and treble controls. A further control in the summing channel enables adjustment to the spatiality. The amplifier is particularly suitable for small bands.

Details

The Eminent I has operating voltages of 110, 130, 220 and 240 volts at 50 Hz. It is equipped with 5 x ECC 808, 2 x ECC 83, ECC 81, 2 x EL 34 tubes, 4 x BY 250, B 40 C 200, 2 x ECO 5347, OA 161, 3 x BZY 87, E 75 C 40 semiconductors. The technical arrangement comprises four preamplifiers, tone control and driver stage. The output power is 40 watts for sine wave and 55 watts for music, the distortion factor is less than 1.5 at 1000 Hz, the frequency range is 30 Hz to 15 kHz at +/- 1 dB, the approximate input sensitivity is 2 mV at 150-500 kOhm for microphones, 10 mV at k400 Ohm for guitar, 100 mV at 400 kOhm for organ and 30 mV for recording. Outputs are available for speakers with 4 ohms, 2 x 8 ohms and 16 ohms. (Source HiFi Archive, Hans Ohms)
