The Cry Baby is a wah-wah pedal, manufactured by Dunlop Manufacturing, Inc. in 1966 as a lowe priced model. The name Cry Baby was from the original pedal from which it was copied, the Thomas Organ/Vox Cry Baby wah-wah from the same year. The wah-wah effect was originally intended to imitate the crying tone of a trumpet, but became an expressive tool in its own way. 1966 this pedal was produced with a black inductor, since 2003 too with the red Fasel inductor. The pedals were popularized by guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and David Gilmour.
