The Boss CS-1 Compression Sustainer was the first compact compressor pedal from Roland and was produced between 1978 and 1982. It has the control functions Sustain, Level and Mode. The Level knob controls the output volume, the Sustain knob controls the amount of compression and the Normal/Treble Mode toggle switch controls the overall sound/EQ.
