The instrument

The Arp Quartet synthesiser was edited in 1979 as Siel Orchestra and then rebranded. It was rather simply equipped, but cheaper than corresponding products from the competition. This version replaced the Reed section with an Organ section.

Details

The Arp Quartet is a preset synthesiser with 49 keys without velocity, covering 4 octaves (C-C). It is equipped with 4 sound sections with a superordinate divide-down oscillator network, which includes a filter envelope, a LFO (vibrato) and an amp envelope. Brass can be switched for trombone and trumpet, String for cello and violin, Organ for organ and celeste, Piano for honkytonk and with sustain. Vibrato, Brilliance (for the Brass), Attack and Decay can be edited. 6 sliders are used to modulate the sound sources, 12 switches for the preset sounds, which can be combined in pairs.
