AKG BX 5 Stereo Spring Reverb Unit

The instrument

AKG, which was primarily known for its microphones and headphones, began launching a series of spring reverbs in 1972 with the huge BX 20. This was followed by the BX-15, the BX-10 (1975) and the BX-5 (1980) as a rackmount configuration.

Details

The BX 5 has o number of features in common with the BX 20, BX 15 and BX 10 Reverberation Units and used:
Torsional Transmission Line (TTL) principle; high density of resonant frequencies; high pulse density to duplicate the sound points of naturally reverberant environments; high degree of statistical diffusion in both frequency and time domains; linear frequency response for maximum range of applications; precise duplication of natural room reverberation effects; adjustable input sensitivity; built-in limiter to prevent overdriving of reverb input; built-in reverb/dry signal mixing.
